8:15am-9:00am-Integrative Medicine and Cancer Care

The majority of cancer patients are and will engage with some form of integrative medicine during their oncological treatment, and most of them will not talk about it with their oncologist, missing a valuable opportunity for collaboration, symptom alleviation, and avoidance of possibly dangerous interactions. 10:15am-11:00am-Survivorship Care Today: What does it mean?

As we observe the growing number of cancer survivors related to improvements in treatments and supportive care, we are reaching our goal to improve outcomes for people with cancer. But what are we missing? Survivorship care still includes the 4 domains of care – the physical, psychological, social and spiritual -- but the communication and coordination of meeting these needs has become much more complicated. Our aging population and their associated comorbidities require healthcare providers to consider many more issues when managing these patients. Survivors’ long-term effects are changing. Who will provide the needed care and how will it be paid for? Being creative and focused on coordination of care is essential for the future of survivorship care.
